Devizes Foodbank had an influx of new volunteers this morning. The arrival of Bishop Stephen meant that the order for a forklift truck could be put on hold. The Archdeacons of Wilts and Sarum were with much careful training perhaps more help than hindrance.
We were impressed and shocked. Shocked that in Devizes there is such an obvious need for emergency food packs for families and individuals. However we learnt that any of us can fall on hard times and need that sort of support at any time. We were impressed by the organisation of the Foodbank and the generosity of so many in local churches and the wider community which made all this possible.
